About Rosie

Sometimes life can become overwhelming and we can lose perspective, at times we can feel lost or struggle with difficulties such as depression and anxiety. Different things can cause us to either lose perspective or to lose our true sense of self be it trauma, difficult relationships or struggling with a sense of self amidst modern pressures of social media.

I have always been interested in understanding others perspectives, what has led them to be on the path they are now. For me, counselling is about creating a space and an opportunity for clients to explore themselves, be able to discover and express their inner thoughts and feelings and to feel empowered.

As far back as I can remember I have always been interested in why we do the things we do. This inspired me to study a degree in Psychology in 2005.

I decided to train further as a counsellor and completed a Diploma and then Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling to further develop my skills as a counsellor. Throughout this process I undertook my own personal therapy so that I could better understand my own inner world, what has led me to feel and think the way I do and help gain a true perspective.

From 2009 - 2020 I worked as part of Psychology teams in various adult mental health services. Within these services I have run groups and helped individuals with a number of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, anger management, identity issues and relationship difficulties. I volunteered for a charity offering low cost counselling  to adults for 4 years, providing both long term and short term support. I established my own private practice in 2019 and really enjoy being able to provide a space for people to be able to explore, reflect and gain insight and perspective.
