There’s been a lot written about the therapeutic benefits of gardening. It gets you out in the sunshine and fresh air, it’s exercise and it also gives you a great sense of achievement.
I’m not green fingered at all so I stick to container gardening 🙂. There’s definitely something satisfying to creating little pots of glorious colour and watching them grow over the months/ years.
Having pretty flowers can also make you feel happy when returning home after a stressful day at work.
A study back in 2010 found that gardening and reading helped reduce stress levels, with gardening having a significantly stronger reduction in cortisol levels!
